Dota 2 Mentors?

I've decided to start playing some Dota 2, so I was wondering if anyone was experienced enough to help a fellow newbie out?

I can't really mento you, but what precastwig from Jollyrachers said is to play the single player mode against bots untill you knwo what everyone can do. Which looks acceptable, because you really need to know which guy can do what against you.

Oh he also said that you have three rows and that you should get the last hit on little monsters and that my choices of heroes suck and the blue guy puck is stupid.

Top, mid and bot(tom). If it's anything like LoL, you'll have a spellcaster mid, an attack damage char and support bot, then a tank (or somr other stuff, dunno) top. As for the last char, it's like a roamer. Not sure if this playstyle applies to dota 2.

Last hitting minions will give you extra money. Early game you will probably want to stick with just last hitting minions instead of shooting them all the time. This is because if you push the lane forward too much, you get vulnerable to sneak attacks from the jungle.
